Abstract

In this study, the usage level of Marmaris local foods in restaurant menus located in the region was investigated. Within the scope of the study, the menus belonging to the restaurants in Marmaris were utilized and the obtained information was taken into consideration. This information was interpreted by content analysis. As a result of the study, it is seen that Marmaris local foods can not take part in the menus of restaurants in the region. In related literature, it is stated that local foods are effective in introducing, marketing and being preferred. For this reason, the results of the research can be considered as a disadvantage for the region. Some suggestions are made to the restaurants in the region with the aim of eliminating these disadvantages.
