Abstract

In this research, paste consumption behaviours of consumers in the urban area of Samsun were analyzed. The data was collected from 196 consumers randomly. The results showed that 99% of the household consumed tomato and pepper paste together or seperately. The monthly total tomato and pepper paste consumption varied from 0.5 to 4 kg with an average of 1.60 kg. Most households prefered to buy tomato and
pepper paste from supermarkets. There were positive relations between the quantity of the consumed tomato and pepper paste and the variables of household size, number of children in household and the total food expenditure.
